My niece and nephew were both engaged by this book, and both were enthusiastically learning what the author was presenting. The book was perhaps a little bit lengthy for my nephew, but he enjoyed it! He enjoyed the wide array of dinosaurs on display here, he enjoyed learning about the ways in which some dino parents cared for their young, and about how some babies were on their own the minute they hatched. He was kind of tickled to make the connection that some baby dinosarus were alone after hatching, just like the sea turtles we recently read about in
Into the Sea.
There's a lot for kids to fill their brains with here, and it's an interesting aspect of dinosaur life that isn't always covered in children's books.
