Bruno and Alice is a government publication from Health Canada that serves to provide seniors with insight into how to improve their personal health and safety.
What makes this document unique, and trust me, I've read
a lot of government documents, is that it is written with real heart. It is a well written, well developed love story. It has touches of humor and flashes of sweet emotion. Bruno and Alice are both fully developed characters, and the world they inhabit is vividly portrayed. For such a short book (and for a government publication) it does an exceptional job of making the reader really care about Alice and Bruno. By the end I was pulling for this sweet, albeit accident prone, couple! And Health Canada did an awesome job of unobtrusively weaving the health and safety tips into this great short story!
