Farmer Palmer's Wagon Ride is a decent vocabulary lesson for kids (although I did choose to censor the word ass--my sister needs my nephew running around daycare saying that word like she needs a hole in the head). Honestly, though, aside from vocabulary, I'm not sure what the strengths of this book are. Both my nephew and I thought this story was really boring! My niece said she liked it, but she couldn't tell me why. I guess the little mini adventure recalled [b:Dominic|860745|Dominic|William Steig|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1311992761s/860745.jpg|2151076] (which I loved as a kid) to mind, but really, I don't think readers are missing much if they skip this [a:William Steig|26874|William Steig|http://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1201030267p2/26874.jpg] story.
