Good, non-scary "scary" book that is lots of fun to read. You can almost hear the Alfred Hitchcock creepy movie/Psycho music playing as Jasper is psychologically tormented by some creepy carrots. The black and white illustrations hearken back to the old b & w Hitchcock thrillers, and the sinister splashes of carrot orange on each page enhance the suspense.
My niece and I particularly liked Creepy Carrots, and she was cracking up at the clever ending. My nephew didn't quite get the twist ending, but once my niece explained it to him his face lit up, and he was laughing too. After we read the book I heard them playing Superhero, and guess what they were battling? Yep, creepy carrots! :-)
