1.5 stars. Overall, I thought The Guilty was awful. It was filled with boozy, unsympathetic, cliched characters, the writing was slipshod, the mystery wasn't terribly interesting, and I absolutely
hated the ending. I didn't even like Henry (the main character) by the end of this story!
That said, no brains are required when reading this book. It is a "beach read." I've got two history books going right now, and this book was fine for when I wanted to read, but needed something (considerably) less dense than my history books. This book is fine for just relaxing with. Henry Parker book as much as
the first book in the series, I can appreciate action writing that has me on the edge of my seat.
