Very educational, and interesting in that it is so educational. I don't have a strong foundation at all in early American history, and although I had heard of King Philip's War, I certainly had no idea of its scope or scale. I am also not familiar with the geography of this region of the country, so it was a little challenging for me to visualize the locations in which these events took place. Lots of names, and lots of dates paraded through this book, so it wasn't always easy to keep everything straight. But this book did teach me more about the times in which some of my ancestors lived, and it provided me with some context for understanding their lives and their deaths. It made me appreciate how the lives of people are so tightly intertwined with the life of their nation.
