The Jolly Postman, or Other People's Letters - Janet Ahlberg, Allan Ahlberg Fun concept, and the children had a good time taking turns "opening" each letter in the book. The problem was, there were a couple of letters the kids didn't understand (one to the Big Bad Wolf from Little Red Riding Hood's lawyers ordering him to cease and desist in his impersonation of her grandmother, and one to H.R.H. Cinderella from a publishing house asking her approval of publication of a children's book of her life story). Cute and humorous to adults, but completely over the heads of the little ones. As for the rhyming text itself, it was bland, and truly failed to hold the kids' attention. I thought that the text was like cotton candy; light, fluffy, low on substance, high on belly ache potential.
