Oh, I just really wanted to like this one! The pacing of this story just isn't helping me to fall into it. There are some very exciting and interesting passages that completely hook me, and then there is some sort of shift in pacing, and I'm completely knocked out of the flow of the story. I keep losing track of what's going on because of the roller-coaster-like ups and downs, peaks and valleys in this book. I mean, I like and get what's going on in the life of "Myfanwy Thomas II," but all of the jibber-jabber by "Myfanwy Thomas I" that does not directly relate to what "Myfawny Thomas II" needs to know to do her job just makes my eyes glaze over. Maybe I'm not patient enough, or maybe my attention span is that of a squirrel, but I just can't maintain focus on this story! I made it half-way through, and finally just couldn't take the uneven pacing any more. The audio narration by Susan Duerden
is excellent, though!
