The Masque of the Red Death - Edgar Allan Poe I really liked the imagery in this one. I loved the use of color and opulence juxtaposed against disease and death, I loved the idea of a prince sequestering himself amid luxury and decadence while the poor die of a horrible pestilence in the streets. And then the great levelling comes, "And Darkness and Decay and the Red Death held illimitable dominion over all." Fantastic writing, that!
