Eh. I think the kids and I are approaching being "done" with Skippyjon Jones. Granted, I've read them to death since I discovered
the first Skippyjon Jones, but the level of poetry and wordplay just isn't consistent through the rest of the series, and none of the other books have even held a candle to that first one. To make matters worse, my niece keeps exclaiming in increasingly frustrated tones, "What does that even mean?!? That doesn't make any sense!!"
My nephew enjoyed
the first Skippyjon Jones and
Skippyjon Jones Lost in Spice, but this one did not hold his attention to the end. I get the impression from the kids that they
want to like Skippyjon Jones, but the books aren't meeting their expectations. It's probably best to be done with these. At least for now.
