Strega Nona - Tomie dePaola I loved Strega Nona! Fun story, good moral, and I am so relieved that Strega Nona's rationality kept Anthony from the gallows! I also really like Tomie dePaola's illustrations, which I was first introduced to in my beloved Helga's Dowry.

My niece liked this story a lot. She also approved of Strega Nona's teaching methods, and she gave a good giggle at the end of the story. My nephew eventually tuned into Strega Nona, too. He seemed to enjoy the story quite well--he even asked his mom for spaghetti for dinner. I wonder if he'll blow three kisses to the pasta pot.
