This is a book that seems like a traditional "children's book," but I don't really think this book was written for kids. Younger kids just wouldn't get the tongue-in-cheek humor that is present in this book, and so much would just fly right over their heads (I tried it on my 8 year old niece, and we only got about 3 stories in--she just didn't get it). I really think this is more of a young adult or adult book that happens to have pictures.The poems in here are so clever and funny, and the illustrations are just lots of fun to look at. My Goodreads and real life friend Pam and I had a great time reading this one! This would be a great gift for an adult who loves those old monster movies, horror stories, or who adores Halloween. Just lots of fun to go through!
