This is a very enjoyable book--makes you think, entertains, embarrasses, terrifies. I remember reading this book in junior high, and I think I liked it better then, but understand it better now.
I felt a little jarred out of the story at times. There was a lot in there that felt dated, probably because we are now living in the time frame in which the book takes place--it's hard to imagine a future that is the present. :-) Still, the points Bradbury makes about man in Martian Chronicles are valid and unfortunately, I think, timeless.
You can't beat Bradbury for a good sci-fi read and beautifully crafted text. His writing is lyrical and his descriptions are so multi-faceted but done with simple, lovely language. He's a pleasure to read.
