Shadow Pass was nicely read by Paul Michael
, and I enjoyed his narration style. Unfortunately, I found Shadow Pass to be a bit too meandering, a bit too drawn out, and maybe even slightly predictable. I knew who each of our bad guys were, but didn't know their motiviations. I also found Stalin to be a bit more, oh, I don't know, reasonable
that what I am given to understand he was in real life. Still, I rarely run across a book set in Soviet Russia that I don't enjoy, and Shadow Pass is no exception. What can I say? I like my Soviet intrigue, and if there's enough of that, then I can overlook a lot.
