My niece and nephew both enjoyed Days of the Ducklings, and my niece thought it was cool that Drifa, the young girl in the story, was trying to make a difference by helping the eider ducks reestablish a hold on Hvallatur Island.

The photographs that comprise the pictures in this book are quite lovely, and I think that the photos really helped my niece and nephew appreciate the work that Drifa was doing. A nice story about environmental stewardship, and a story that shows kids a kid making a difference.
