Who Built the Bridge?
My niece and I enjoyed this older book about what goes into building a bridge over a big, unpredictable river. The illustrations are mostly in browns and yellows, nothing bright and bold like what is found in today's children's books, but the story is good, interesting, and easy for kids to understand. Especially nice if you have a bridge nearby that you can point to as a real life example of what's being shown in the book.
